Lungs of the World, Taronga Zoo

sculpture

This piece made for the Lemur precinct at Taronga Zoo responds to a brief set by Doppio Design and captures the lungs of the world in the form of a bronchial tree. A parallel is drawn between the lungs and the forests function. Words associated with this form part of the piece: breath, filter, carbon, oxygen…… The work intensifies the layered experience of information that unfolds through this regenerated area of the zoo.
